I can't get enough of vintage clothing lately. Still, I have zero, none, nothing thrifted/vintage in my closet. A few days ago I came by Adore Vintage, an online vintage store that sells the most beautiful items. I fell in love with the 80s waistbelt you can see above, but it was already sold. Like most items on the site actually... wich is kind of a bummer.Anyways, I have some news to share with you all to, but that will have to wait for another time, because I have to run now. See yah!

The Daybook                                                         The Flower Girl

Two of my favorite bloggers wearing a flared jeans by Gap. Both in different ways. I never really liked flared jeans until I saw these two posts by The Daybook and The Flower Girl in the past weeks. {I hope they don't mind me "stealing" their pictures!} These outfits showed me you can rock those jeans! Syd from The Daybook goes for jeans on jeans while Becky-May from The Flower Girl chooses to wear her flared jeans with a embroided top for a 70s look. After this load of inspiration I am dying to get my own pair of these babies! How about you?

I am a sucker for dark wash jeans by the way. So the Current/Elliot Jeans above would be my first pick. I now have to run. My grandma is taking us to a local snackbar for pancakes. Yum Yum! I will try to keep up with my comments after that, cause I have been busy working on papers and keeping the BF happy the whole weekend. Blogging had to take a third place. Oh and I have some news too...

Floral Dresses

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Two seasons ago I fell in love with the floral trend and ever since I am on the hunt for the perfect floral dress. Asos is a great inspiration source. Their dress collection offers all styles, going from granny to california beach florals. Here are my favorites.

Pictures by me

Well dang it! My camera can focus on the right thing! Still, he refuses to blur the background when I am trying to snap some outfit photos. Blurring the background when I zoom in on a certain detail is a start. Maybe I am the one doing something wrong? { Oh, Do you guys know a not to expensive ( less than $300) camera that has for one a 'blur background' option and other great features and by this I do not mean funny frames and stuff like that.} These pictures were taken a week ago when my boyfriend and I went out for a walk in the fields around his house. It was bare cold outside and the wind was freezing. Although, the first signs of spring were starting to show. I hope the temperatures will rise soon so that I can go outside without wearing my wintercoat. After wearing it almost daily for 4 months, that coat is really starting to bore me!

What camera's do you guys use?

PS: More fashionable posts coming up soon! I did not have time to search my favorite shops for hot new items tha past week :)

PPS: Noticed my subtile weather talk?

Writers block

Source unknown

My god, have you guys seen that new Mercedes commercial? I love it! Those boys are so cute. Why am I talking about a commercial? Don't know, It just popped in my head. I think my writing is on a bit of a downside lately. I seem more like a blogreader (read: blogstalker) than like an actual blogger. Writing used to be on of my favorite things to do, as was reading. I have thousands of short stories saved on my computer. Some are from way back when I was in primary school. They are quite funny to read now. Also I don't read as much as I used to any more. The only books I read nowadays are my psychology books for school. Blah! I started reading the Twilight series last March but I still haven't finished Breaking Dawn. In a week I will have spend a year on reading 4 books... 4! I was thinking about taking a bloggingbreak, because I don't want to bore you guys with my lame stories. Maybe I should talk about the weather tomorrow? Thats an easy topic, right? One can never do wrong when talking about the weather...

Lay-out Changes

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I went to zara and spend my giftcard! Curious about what I choose? Hold on just a little bit longer and I'll show you ^^

I am messin' around with my lay-out a bit. I changed my 3-column blog to a 2-column blog and now I am playing around with some colour schemes. I must say, I rediscoverd my HTML and CSS skills. When I was younger I kept busy on creating layouts for my little webpages on sites like imonline. I knew that one day those coding skills would pay off! Now I have to start working on my homework, after passing my first set of terms I do not want to lose my summer on the second set that's coming up in June. I want to be 100% ready.

Any tips on how to read through 150 pages on one evening?

Friis and Company Stein bag

I am so in love with my latstest wardrobe addition! I always love going to the Friis and Co stores in Antwerp during the sales. You can always get some great scores there! This bag has just the right size. It is a tophandle bag but it also has a schoulder strap. And I can use it for school since it is large enough to carry my books and my lunchbox. Friis and Company isn't the best quality but their bags are so beautiful. And doens't it look a little bit familiar too you? Well it sure should!

This Jak and Jil picture features the clutch version!

... go for a new dress OR choose a jacket

I need your help. I have a €50 giftcard from Zara that expires in a week. So now I have a little fashion dilemma. Should I choose a (leather) jacket, or should I go for a dress?

Spool No.72

Thursday, February 17, 2011

I came across this store called Spool No.72 today.
Their collection reminds me of Ruche, it's the same style of clothing. I love their romantic, country flair clothes. The plaid tunic and soft grey lace top are my favorites. They would be perfect for a day off to the countryside!

Stylish Blogger Award #3

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Zoinks! It is going fast! (Yes, I watched Scooby Doo a lot when I was little *blush*) Yesterday I recieved my third SBA ^^ Thanks a lot to Nina from Nina Oliva for sharing her award with me ^^ She has an amazing blog about her style inspiration and finds, quiet similar to mine as I may say so!

There always is this bad part where I need to tell some things about myself... This time I'll tell you 6 things about me and make-up...

Fact one: I never wear make-up.  Say Whaaaaaaaat!? No make-up!? Yes, no make-up. Let me explain to you why. (fact two) My eyes react allergic to everything that has to do with make-up. They get all red and I start crying when i put on eyeshadows, eyeliner or mascara. You can still use foundation, no? No, I have freckles, a lot of freckles. They always stay visible unless I put a very unnatural and unappealing thick layer of foundation on my skin. That was fact three. On to number four. Nailpolishes, do you wear nailpolishes? Again, No! I have very weak, dry nails. They tend to break very easily. I can't polish them, unless I use some really expensive nailpolish.  I can hear you thinking: Lipstick, you must wear lipstick! Fact number 5: I simply hate lipstick. Skincare, nummero 6. I have a very dry, quickly irritated skin. I scrub my face at least once a week and use a hydrating creme before I go to sleep. I also use a facial mask every once in a while, when my skin really needs it and I have time to do so.

So, I think it's fair to say that If you were reading my blog hoping for beauty-posts and tips and tricks, you have come to the wrong adress. I have completely no knownledge about the stuff. What I do have knowledge of is the little list of my new-found blogs that I'd like to share with you:

I hope you enjoyed my post!
See you tomorrow :)

Valentines Cookies

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

No fashion or home deco today. Just some little adventure of mine. Somewhere along the line I mentioned that I was going to bake cookies as a valentines gift. Two days ago it was time to get bakin' ! It was quiet and adventure to find the right recipe and gather all the ingredients. The baking part was so much fun! Afterwards, my kitchen looked like a battlefield, and I spend more than hour on cleaning the mess. He smiled so cute when he got his little cookiejar! Here are some photo's and the basic recipe I used:

Buttercookies!
I do not really have a recipe for these... I kinda 'feel' when the dough is ready
(The last picture is shakey, sory for that!)

The family dog was very curious about what I was doing

Basic cookies, I kept half of the dough aside to make some triple chocolate cookies!

Triple chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie

Basic Recipe
100 grammes of sugar
150 grammes of butter
200 grammes of flower
vanilla sugar
1 egg

1. Preheat oven (180°C)
2. Wash your hands
3. Add all the ingredients in a mixingbowl
4. Knead (yes, with your hands!) until you get something like this:

5.
You can now choose to keep a part of the dough aside to make chocolate dough.
For this you need to add some cocoa powder, melted chocolate and/or chocolate chips and knead again. You melt chocolate 'au bain marie' !!! *

6. Make sure you have a clean surface
7. Dust the surface of the table with flower
8. Roll out the dough and cut forms
9. bake in a preheated oven of 180°C (+/- 10minutes)

The amounts used are in grammes!
1 gram = 0.03 ounces
1 ounce = 28 grammes
The heat of the oven is in degrees Celsius!

*Whats 'au bain marie'?
You melt chocolate au bain marie. You boil water and place a heat resistant plate over the pan of boiling water. You put the chocolate in the plate and wait till it has molten. If you melt the chocolatle directly in a pan it has a high chance of burning!
